Top up SIP is a facility which allows the investor to increase the amount of the SIP instalment by a fixed amount at pre-determined intervals.

  • Helps in reaching financial goals faster- By increasing one’s SIP amount, an investor is investing more money, which may help in long term wealth creation with the added advantage of compounding. This in turn can help his corpus grow and reach his financial goals faster.
  • Helps manage your income and your investments- An investor may get increments in their salary or income every year. Top up SIP facility helps to invest the additional income without hassle.

Top up SIP facility is available in all schemes in which SIP facility is offered except SBI Small Cap Fund

Monthly SIP- Half yearly as well as Yearly Top up SIP facility is available. Quarterly SIP- Only Yearly Top up SIP facility is available. In case the investor does not specify the frequency, the default frequency for Top up will be considered as Half yearly.

The minimum top up amount is 500 and further instalments can be done in multiples of 500.

  • An investor can apply for Top up facility by filling in the SIP enrolment form . Alternatively, he can apply for this facility online on the website or through mobile application of SBIMF.
  • SIP Top-up facility is available for SIP Investments through ECS (Debit Clearing) / Direct debit facility only

No, an investor cannot Top up an existing SIP. To avail Top up SIP facility, an investor must enrol for a fresh SIP with Top up option. You can use the modify SIP option available post login under the My Systematic Transactions section.


No, an investor cannot modify a Top up facility which is already availed. In order to make any changes, an investor must cancel the existing SIP and enrol for a fresh SIP with Top up option.
